Our Pastor

Pastor Tony Bazen was born and raised in North Carolina. During his senior year at North Carolina State University, he attended a revival meeting on December 3, 1987, and his life was forever changed. Shortly after he was saved, Pastor Bazen felt God’s leadership into full-time ministry, transferring to Bible College to prepare for a life of service. After receiving his Bible degree, he worked with youth for 10 years, serving as a Christian School teacher, coach, Youth Pastor, and Bus Director. In November 0f 2000, Pastor Bazen helped start Promised Land Baptist Church in Gastonia, NC. The Lord grew a great church there, with a Bus Ministry, Hispanic Ministry, Filipino Ministry, and a large missions program.

After more than nine years of pastoring, the Lord led the Bazens to Lincoln, IL, to serve at Park Meadows Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor S.M. Davis. From March 2010 to November 2011, Pastor Bazen served as an Assistant Pastor at Park Meadows, overseeing the Christian Academy and directing the Youth Ministry.

On November 3, 2011, the congregation of Park Meadows Baptist Church overwhelmingly choose “Brother” Bazen to assume the title of Pastor Bazen. On November 20, Pastor Davis passed the mantle of leadership to Pastor Bazen in an unforgettable service.

Pastor Bazen has several passions in his life. First and foremost, he has a love for Jesus Christ. Recognizing the great debt he owes to Christ, he has dedicated his life to serving the Lord.

He is also passionate about his family. God has blessed him with a wonderful wife, Joanna, and two great daughters, Rebecca and Bethany. His family provides both inspiration and illustrations for much of his preaching and writing.

A third passion that Pastor Bazen has is a love for youth. He still enjoys interacting with youth, accompanying our teens on many of their activities. He also has a monthly teen meeting with the youth to try to stay connected with them.

Finally, Pastor Bazen has a passion for missions, realizing that the very heartbeat of God is that all the earth may know about Jesus. Our pastor has been privileged to visit numerous mission fields and has a desire to lead our church into doing the same and to do all that we can do in the area of Missions.

Pastor Bazen has written a number of songs, a devotional book, worked as a sports journalist, and also has written a youth column in the Sword of the Lord magazine.
